Analysis and Summary of Import and Export of Chinese Electric Fans (HS: 841451) in the Year 2023

Issuing time:2024-03-15 Author:Alisa Back to list

Electric fan is a type of electrical appliance that utilizes an electric motor to drive blades rotation, generating airflow to achieve cooling or ventilation effects. The earliest electric fans were driven by electric motors, typically used in commercial and industrial sectors. With the development of electric power technology, electric fans gradually entered households. At this time, electric fans were usually desktop or floor models, made of metal or cast iron, with relatively simple shapes. With the widespread application of plastic materials, electric fans began to adopt lightweight and economical plastic casings, making the products more portable. With the continuous advancement of technology, electric fans have also evolved from simple mechanical models to modern smart ones.

According to customs data, Chinese electric fans have shown an increasing trend in both export value and export volume in recent years. In terms of export value, it grew from $2,567,558,547 in 2018 to $3,755,584,041 in 2023. In terms of export volume, there was a 10.2% increase during the same period in 2023. This not only indicates the expansion of the export market for Chinese electric fans during this period but also reflects the continuous growth in demand for Chinese electric fans in the international market. Especially in 2020 and 2021, there was significant growth in both export value and export volume, which may also be related to the increased attention to air circulation and indoor environment during the COVID-19 pandemic at that time.

With the trend of improving living standards and changing consumer attitudes, the small home appliance industry is continuously catering to consumer demands, enhancing product quality, and improving service levels, while also driving innovation and development within the industry. Electric fans are an important component of the small home appliance industry. As a common and practical small home appliance product, they are widely used in households, offices, industries, and other places, providing people with cooling, ventilation, and comfortable environments.

China is one of the world's major producers and exporters of electric fans. Chinese electric fan exports encompass multiple brands, ranging from well-known brands to small-scale manufacturers, catering to various market demands.

According to data, in 2023, the export volume of Chinese electric fans was mainly concentrated in regions such as the United States, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy. The primary types exported were pedestal fans (HS: 84145192) and desk fans (HS: 84145191), accounting for 39.9% and 33.92% of the overall market export volume, respectively. In the United States, desk fans accounted for 33.98% and ceiling fans accounted for 39.27%, while in the Philippines, desk fans reached 47.68%, and in Vietnam, desk fans accounted for as high as 69.72%. In Japan, desk fans comprised 62.37% of the total.

With economic growth in certain countries and regions, there is an increase in people's demand for a higher quality of life, which also drives demand in emerging markets such as Africa. Concurrently, with the development of smart and energy-saving technologies, and the increasing global focus on environmental protection and energy efficiency, the electric fan export industry will encounter more opportunities and challenges.

It is important to note the dynamic changes in the market and focus on product innovation and enhancing competitiveness, which will help Chinese electric fan manufacturers better seize foreign trade opportunities and improve international competitiveness.

As the first data company in China, Guotong provides customs data for imports and exports from over 80 countries since 2010. It offers precise online analysis of market distribution for imports and exports, detailed transaction information of import and export enterprises, specific quantity-price analysis, and supply cycles. This data serves as reliable basis for major foreign trade enterprises and industry consulting firms.

PS: The above data mainly pertains to four product categories: ceiling fans (HS: 84145110), desk fans (HS: 84145191), pedestal fans (HS: 84145192), and wall fans (HS: 84145193).
